Yep, you heard me right. Love them. Unfortunately, carnations have a bad rep. We can all remember Charlotte and Carrie scoffing at the notion of a man bringing carnations on a first date. And because they're not the most expensive flower, many brides are hesitant to use them. We recently had a bride that said absolutely no carnations, until we showed her how amazing they look when bunched together. Now, they're no peonies and I'm definitely not asking for a bouquet of them (keep the lillies, tulips and roses coming matt :)), but they can make gorgeous wedding arrangements and details. They're also user-friendly enough that even the most novice of floral designers can work with them. Whether you're planning a wedding, a dinner party or even just want something pretty for your coffee table, buy some carnations and get creative. Look at the possibilities...

Wow! I am impressed. For the record I am not against carnations for my big day. I like that black and white Martha Stewart one! Pretty.
One of my favorite flowers, when used all together. They're so ruffley!
as soon as i saw your title i thought of carrie and charolette...and burger...oh burger...
and i'm now thinking of my favorite line from that episode and laughing to myself...hahaha
I would agree with the bride that said absolutely no carnations. Until....I saw your blog. Actually quite beautiful when bunched together...who would have thought.
I am doing a carnation style cake...I am a dork I like them. The sorority I was in had the pink carnation as our flower...I was sold ever since haha.
we will be using carnations as part of our centerpieces and in bouquets :) love how they look all bunched together.
I love love love carnations. I love the smell and their texture when hundreds are bundled together.
Yey to the carnation and also yey to your blog - I'm new and love it!
I'm using carnation orbs as part of my wedding design and I can't wait to see how they turn out!

Just pitched the idea of using carnation balls to one of my brides. She didn't love the idea of carnations (which made me sad, too), but loved the almost pomander look to them.
I, too, think carnations can get a bad wrap. Sure getting a bouquet of them may not be the best thing, but they are great for using in wedding and event decor!
